Buying
First-Time Buyers
So, here you are. Either you’ve saved enough, been gifted enough, inherited enough or won the lottery. However you’ve found yourself here, you have decided you are ready to invest in your first home. Here’s where You meet Us.
First, let’s talk about why you will want to work with us over just any Realtor® out there. We are not sales-focused when it comes to the needs of our clients.. Bottomline. Period. That in itself is huge and here’s why.
As a first-time buyer, the last thing you need is to have to add “do I trust my Agent” to the mix of stresses and emotions that naturally come with your first largest purchase. We understand this and strive to ensure you know, you feel that we are there for you and what your needs are.
One meeting with us and we know you will feel confident that our goals are your wants and needs.
We are ‘Your Agents’.
Experienced Buyers
The most important reason you will want to work with us; we are not sales-focused. We are service-focused. Our philosophy is, “We are your Agents”. That means we work to do what is best for you; what’s in your best interest.
We aren’t number one in any sales category. We aren’t number one in a neighbourhood. We aren’t number one in our office. Those prestigious titles are for others with priorities that differ from ours.
Why do we boast about that?
Because we are number one with our clients(Sure, we’ll give you a list) and that’s the bottom line. We don’t ”sell” ourselves to you. We allow our clients, combined with your “gut feeling” upon meeting with us, to do that for us. We will, as we do when assisting you to buy, give you all the information you need to make the right decision for you.
We educate you on what you didn’t know you didn’t know.
Your First Step
Your first step to buying a home is to first ask yourself why you want to buy a home: to stop paying rent? To start building equity? To have a place of your own? To raise a family? To entertain business associates? To move up to a bigger house? Next, list what kind of home you'd like and where you would like to be. Be specific. Separate the "must-haves" from the "want to have."
Think of yourself as zeroing in on a target, going from the general to the specific. Consider area (city, suburban neighbourhood, country); community (north, south, east, or west side); neighbourhood (older and settled or sparkling new; a particular school zone; recreational facilities; and other community services such as transportation, daycare, library, stores, entertainment). Ask yourself how many minutes you are willing to commute to work.
Think about home styles. How much space do you need? Does your situation require a one-level home, or are stairs acceptable? Consider size and kind of property. Do you want a newer home, or maybe an older one to fix up? Someday you or your heirs will want to sell. Consider how long you expect to live in this particular home.
Your Next Step: Loan Pre-Qualification
Once you have addressed the above needs, your next step in the purchasing process is to get pre-qualified with a mortgage company. This can be done over the phone or even online in a matter of minutes.
Call me and I will refer you to a mortgage professional that has an excellent reputation and track record for successfully acquiring loan approval for his/her clients.
